Concrete Services in Conder
Conder sits in Tuggeranong's south-east against the hills of the Tuggeranong Hill reserve, developed mainly through the late 1980s and 1990s. Many streets climb toward the hills, so sloping driveways, steps and retained back-yard slabs are a big part of what we pour, and rock can turn up close to the surface on the higher blocks. Lower down, the ground is mostly reactive clay. Many Conder homes still have their original concrete, now thirty-odd years old, along with paths that have settled and cracked as the clay moved. We pour concrete in Conder for driveway replacements, steps and paths, patios on falling ground and shed slabs, and we plan the stormwater on every sloping job so summer storms do not run straight toward the house or garage. Each quote is fixed, written and based on a site visit.
- Driveway replacement — Original sloping driveways replaced with corrected grades, smoother transitions and a finish with good grip.
- Steps & side paths — Concrete steps and side paths on falling ground, giving safe access around the house.
- Patios on sloping yards — Back-yard slabs made level with retaining, fill or stepped footings, so the outdoor area actually works on a slope.

Concrete Finishes in Conder
Polished Concrete
We grind and seal your slab to a shine, trialling the gloss level on a small patch first so you can see it.
Coloured Concrete
Colour mixed right through or stained on top, picked from cured samples you can view in daylight at home.
Honed Concrete
A smooth, low-sheen surface that stays grippy underfoot when it is wet or frosty, ideal around pools and alfrescos.
Exposed Aggregate
Stones revealed at the surface give you traction on a sloping block and hide tyre marks and leaf stains well.
Stencilled Concrete
Brick, tile or paver patterns laid into a new pour, or applied over an existing slab that is still solid.
Stamped Concrete
Stone, slate or timber textures stamped into fresh concrete, with the layout planned so edges finish cleanly.
Concrete Expertise in Conder
Driveways
Built on a base suited to your soil, with control joints placed properly and the verge crossing to TCCS standards.
Patios
We walk the heights and drainage falls with you before pouring, since they are locked in once the concrete sets.
Al Frescos
An alfresco floor has to meet your indoor level exactly, so we sort the heights with your builder before booking.
Pathways
Paths graded so summer storm runoff heads away from your walls, not back against the footings.
Pool Surrounds
We settle grip, how hot it gets under bare feet in summer, and the edge detail at the coping before we start.
Foundations
Footings dug and steel fixed to your engineer and soil report, then inspected by the certifier before any concrete goes in.
Other Concrete Services in Conder
Concrete Installation
Driveways, patios, footings and slabs quoted after we have seen your block and ground, not from a price list.
Concrete Repair
Before any fix, we find what made your slab crack, heave or flake, so the damage doesn't come straight back.
Concrete Slabs
House, shed and granny flat slabs built to an engineer design that suits your block’s soil class.
Concrete Resurfacing
A new finish laid over solid old concrete, with most of the effort going into cleaning and prepping it.
Concrete Replacement
We break out the failed concrete, fix the ground beneath it and pour fresh, so the fault is not repeated.
Concrete Removal
Pipes and cables found and access sorted before breaking starts, and the rubble trucked off for recycling.
Excavation and Earthworks in Conder
Digging and Dirty Works
Awkward little digs where finding buried services and fitting a machine in take the most thought.
Excavation
We check depths, heights and buried pipes on site first, so the dig goes to plan from day one.
Earthworks
Ground cut and filled, then compacted layer by layer, with testing done whenever your certifier asks for it.
Trenching
Trenches dug to the right fall, bedded and packed back in layers so they do not sink after a wet winter.
Digger Hire
An excavator plus an experienced operator, with the right size machine chosen after we look at your access.
Demolition
Asbestos checked and services cut off before we pull anything down, with waste sorted so more gets recycled.
Ground conditions in Conder
Once the concrete is poured, there's no going back to fix what's under it. That's why we look at the ground here before we price a single square metre.
Hillside blocks
Streets climbing toward the Tuggeranong hills make for sloping blocks, where driveway grades, steps and retaining all need careful design.
Rock near the surface
Higher blocks can hit rock early. We allow for rock breaking where it is likely and step footings where the ground level changes.
Storm run-off on slopes
Heavy summer storms send a lot of water downhill. We set falls, grated drains and cut-off channels so it does not reach the garage or house.
Conder concrete questions
Questions we hear a lot from Conder homeowners before we come out to quote.
Can you build a level patio on my sloping Conder yard?
Usually, yes. Depending on the fall we cut into the high side, build up the low side with compacted fill behind a retaining edge, or use a suspended or stepped design. Each has a different cost and may involve an engineer if the retaining is significant. We look at the slope and explain the options before quoting a specific approach.
Why does water pour into my Conder garage in storms?
On sloping blocks it is often because the driveway falls toward the garage with nothing to catch the water. When we replace or modify the driveway we can add a grated drain across the entrance connected to stormwater, and reshape the falls so water is directed away. It is one of the most worthwhile fixes on a hillside block.
Do I need approval to replace steps and paths?
Replacing paths and low steps within your block generally does not need building approval in the ACT, but higher steps, retaining walls above certain heights or work affecting a protected tree may need checking. Anything in the verge needs TCCS approval. We point out anything in your job that is likely to need a certifier or approval before you commit.
